Survival After the Accident – course outline

Initial Visit:

Each participant will be scheduled for a one-to-one visit prior to beginning the group program.  During that visit, paperwork will be completed including consent to treatment, payment agreements, and assessment of any specific needs.  Meeting the therapy team ahead of the first group will help to reduce anxiety, and will help the team judge readiness for group engagement.

If an adjuster has pre-approved the client for participation and it is to be billed via an established provider, there is no fee for the initial visit.  Likewise, if the client is paying for the service directly (eg. Post settlement) the initial visit is included as part of the $ 600.00 course fee.

If there is no pre-approval from an adjuster, this visit must be accomplished with enough lead time to submit an OCF-21 form and establish the service provider account with the insurance company.

Each group session will be structured to include the following: presentation of a topic relevant to recovery from their accident and injuries and how it affects their emotional health, time for individual expression, group dynamic consolidation, assignment of homework, and excepting for Group 1, feedback on the homework process.  A binder will be provided to each participant that will accumulate handouts, reminders, and tools to use.
